The Ibis lifestyle is highly coveted for many reasons: the luxurious residences, full suite of amenities, and proximity to beautiful beaches are just a few of them. This community is not just about golf, although the course is a major draw, it’s also about the other activities that will appeal to all members of the family. No matter your age, residents can find the perfect activity to improve their health and well-being.
Golfing
Let’s start at the star of the show. Golf is an excellent way to stay in shape. Although it’s played at a slower pace than many other sports, golf has multiple health benefits, including improving heart health and lung function. It can also reduce stress. Another plus is that it’s a game that anyone can play, from young kids to senior adults.
The Club at Ibis offers one of the finest private golf facilities in the Palm Beaches, comprised of three distinct golf courses, each one designed by the renowned Nicklaus family. The Legend and The Heritage are both designed by Jack Nicklaus, while The Tradition was designed by Steve Nicklaus. The Legend was established in 1991 and spans 7,442. The Heritage Course is a par-72, 7,062-yard course, while The Tradition is a par-73 course.
These acclaimed golf courses not only present a challenge for players, but also provide plenty of variety in terms of play style and difficulty level.
Swimming
Swimming is a fantastic activity for the whole family to enjoy. At The Club at Ibis, members have access to a private swimming pool and certified instructors. Not only is swimming a wonderful cardiovascular exercise that improves heart and lung function, but studies have also suggested it may help lower blood pressure. For those looking to add a splash of fitness to their routine, why not join the Aquacise class offered in the mornings?
Aerobics classes
The Ibis Fitness Center offers several aerobics classes in a spacious, 15,000-square-foot facility. In addition to state-of-the-art equipment and a well-maintained space, the Fitness Center offers classes such as:
- Spinning
- Yoga
- Zumba
- Pilates and Water Pilates
- Strength & Conditioning
- Sleek Physique
- Abs & Stretch
- Low Impact/High Intensity
Led by certified instructors, these classes provide a well-rounded approach to health and fitness. A few of their benefits include improved cardiovascular health, stamina, muscle strengthening, and weight management. On top of that, they’re a fun way to boost your mood.
Tennis and pickleball
At The Club at Ibis, tennis enthusiasts can enjoy world-class programs and complete facilities, including 15 state-of-the-art Har-Tru courts.
Practice sessions and weekly drill clinics are available for players looking to refine their game. These are overseen by Jay Berger, the in-house Director of Athletics, who brings his expertise as a former No. 7 world-ranked tennis player, Olympic Coach, and Head of Men’s Tennis. Competitive players can also participate in intra-club championships and leagues. Additionally, there is a fully-stocked Sports Shop for your equipment needs, racquet-stringing services, and the latest activewear designs.
For those interested in pickleball, there are also four dedicated courts available for use.
Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches
The Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches is an annual event held in The Palm Beaches every July. Organized by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, this festival spans two days and is specifically recommended for children aged 5 to 12. It features over 45 sports clinics, covering a wide range of activities from tennis to golf. Notable past partners include the US Tennis Association, Roger Dean Stadium, Okeeheelee BMX, and the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).
Beach activities
Living in The Ibis means enjoying the best of what West Palm Beach has to offer – great weather and beautiful beaches just a short drive away. Palm Beach Island is only 2 miles from West Palm Beach, just across the bridge, and offers a host of recreational activities like boating, fishing, hiking, and biking.
Nearby Riviera Beach is home to Phil Foster Park, known for its beautiful snorkeling and diving spots, in addition to the 800-foot-long manmade reef just a quick distance from the beach. Riviera Beach is great for children with its shallow and safe waters. Less than 20 minutes away is John D. Macarthur State Park, a semi-secluded facility where visitors can enjoy kayaking, swimming, and wildlife viewing.
